David Spencer

David Leslie Spencer of Cabot passed away January 9, 2018. He was born February 26, 1954 in Alameda, California.

David didn’t get married and become a father until later in life. David’s family always came first. He loved coming home to hear Taylor’s “DADDY!” exclamation and having her arms wrapped around his neck. He enjoyed helping her with her homework and attempting to repair whatever Barbie was broken, or other toy that needed a little love. He loved taking vacations with his family. This past summer he took them to St. Augustine, FL, Cape Canaveral, FL, and to Disney World.

He was an imaging specialist for over 20 years at St. Vincent Infirmary. David always enjoyed “tinkering” as he called it. He had to be busy doing something. That is why David loved his job at St. Vincent. He was always busy working on the imaging equipment. Every day presented a new problem for him to figure out. The bonus to that job was all the great co-workers and friends he had made.

David was a member of the Arkansas Street Rod Association. He enjoyed building and driving his street rod and going to rod runs and visiting with his friends. His favorite rod run was the annual Lake DeGray Rod Run. He had never missed one until last year. He would always take time out from the rod run to take Taylor trail riding on horseback. He had so much joy watching her ride that horse by herself.

Survivors include his wife of eleven years, Renee Carmical Spencer; daughter, Taylor Spencer; sons, Travis Obiol and Tyler Obiol; mother, Doris Griffin and siblings, Richard (Ranea) Spencer and Lillian Merice. David was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Spencer and brother, Neal Griffin.
